Book recs for my favorite t00bies
A Walk in the Woods, Bill Bryson (funny and very trivia/insight-packed look at the Appalachian Trail)

Nickel and Dimed, Barbara Erenreich (a PhD. pretends she never graduated college and got jobs as a waitress, a maid, Wal-Mart, etc. in order to expose the working conditions for women without degrees)

Both these last two are nonfiction.

Also, everyone needs to go read Picture of Dorian Gray if you haven't, just because ;-) And also Watership Down (Richard Adams). Lovage the bunniesness!!

Watership Down has been on my list for so long. For obvious reasons, I need to read The Picture of Dorian Gray. I can't believe I haven't yet.

Dorian Gray
We should all read that together, or something.

Aagh, my LJ is still in Heeboo... which means that logging is slightly a bitch as it's rearranged, and I had to hunt down Shem [name] ;-)

I think that's a good idea too. I need to read that one, as well as Watership Down

Re: Dorian Gray
I think I own Dorian Grey... and if I don't, reading it together would be a good excuse to buy it! O:) I've got to read The Handmaid's Tale first though, or Audy will beat me.

And can I just say...

Bunnies, bunnies, it must be bunnies!
*crickets*
Or maybe midgets...

books...
speaking of books, some years back my mom wrote this wacko book called "Cheepers By the Dozens: Twelve Million Names for Parrots" and had me illustrate it and then self-published it under the publisher name "Paradox Gardens" and it has been sitting around our attic, about three thousand copies, in big boxes, doing nothing, ever since then. Bleah.

So, since she obviously doesn't have the motivation to sell it, I am going to start selling it on ebay. I want to set up an ebay Store to sell it, but for that, you need to have either gotten 20 feedbacks or done ID Verification, and they for some reason can't Verify my ID. So I have started with one copy, which starts selling tomorrow, Aug. 10, and then if that sells, I will sell another, and then another, until I have gotten 20 feedbacks, and then I will try and set up a Store and maybe sell more of them.

I thought that might be an interesting thing to say on this group, since I haven't thought of much else to say. I woulda made its own post for it, instead of replying to the one about other books, but I can't figure out how to post. Can anyone help?

woops, disregard my disregardment
I guess that posting option was just for posting replies to this thread. still can't find starting-thread-of-my-own option. Do you have to have a password or something to do that?
